Es ist schon wieder Freitag und ich denke ich sollte mal wieder einen kleinen Erlebnisbericht abliefern, damit sich auch keiner Sorgen macht 🙂
Gestern hatte ich die verrückteste Taxi-Fahrt meines Lebens. Wir hatten eine Eröffnung in einer Galerie welche um 7 anfangen sollte. 7:40 saßen wir noch immer im Büro und haben darauf gewartet, dass Jeff die Präsentation für die Eröffnung fertig macht. Noch dazu ist die Galerie am anderen Ende der Stadt. Wir sind also ins Taxi gesprungen und haben dem Fahrer gesagt er soll fahren so schnell es geht – und er hat uns beim Wort genommen. Wir sind förmlich geflogen, so etwas habe ich noch nicht erlebt. Dass wir eine Stunde zu spät gekommen sind hat aber scheinbar niemanden gestört. Es waren viele Leute da und wieder mal habe ich meinen Arbeitstag abends um 11 Uhr beendet.
Zur Zeit gibt es wirklich wahnsinnig viel zu tun, jeden Tag kommen neue Aufträge dazu und ein 12 Stunden Tag ist normal. Ich hoffe das ändert sich bald, denn bisher habe ich noch nicht viel von der Stadt gesehen. Gestern hatten wir ein Foto Shooting mit Octavio Mesa, einer der ältesten und bekanntesten Musiker Kolumbiens – der hat schon Privatkonzerte für Pablo Escobar gegeben 😉 Es war wieder mal sehr interessant, wenn auch stressig. Die Fotos sind toll geworden!
Meine erste Kakalake habe ich vorgestern gesehen (die heissen hier Cucarachas). Die Kleine war ungelogen so groß wie mein Daumen, sah eigentlich ziemlich niedlich aus, aber es ist schon unangenehm wenn ich mir vorstelle, dass so etwas nachts auf mir rumkriecht. Warmes Wasser gibt es nur ungefähr jeden zweiten Tag – also nichts für Warmduscher 😉
Heute beziehe ich nun endlich auch mein Miniaturzimmer. Es ist wirklich sehr klein, dafür aber auch sehr preiswert, nur zwei Minuten Laufweg vom Büro und drei mal Essen am Tag inklusive. Ich werde bald ein paar Fotos anhängen.

So it is Friday again and I guess it’s time to continue with some stories from over here before anyone gets worried 😉
Yesterday I had the craziest taxi ride of my entire life. We had an opening in a gallery that was supposed to start at 7. at 7:40 we were still in the office waiting for Jeff to finish the presentation for the opening. On top of that the gallery is at the other end of town. So when we finally got into the taxi we told the driver to get us there as fast as possible and so he did. We were flying. I have never seen anything like this. The fact that we were about one hour late didn’t seem to bother anyone, there were a lot of people and yet again I finished my work day at 11 p.m.
We have loads of work at the moment and we are getting new tasks everyday, having a 12 hour working day is normal. I hope this is going to change soon, because so far I haven’t had the chance to see much of the city. Yesterday we had a photo shoot with Octavio Mesa, one of the oldest and most popular musicians in Colombia. It was very interesting and the photos look wonderful.
The day before yesterday I saw my first cockroach, here they call them cucarachas, and I am not lying when saying that it was as big as my thumb. Actually, it looked kind of cute, but it’s not very comforting to know that these things crawl all over me at night. We only have hot water like every other day, I have to get used to taking cold showers.
Finally today I will move into my tiny little room. It really is tiny, but cheap, very close to the office and it comes with 3 meals a day. I will get some pictures soon.
