Kolumbien scheint ein toter Fleck auf der Landkarte eines fast jeden Südamerika Touristen zu sein. Es ist als schaut man auf dieses Land, als eines, das man schnell durchqueren, sich aber nicht anschauen möchte. Dies ist einer der Gründe warum ich gerade diesen mystischen Ort als Ausgangspunkt meines Südamerika-Abenteuers gewählt habe, ein Land über welches ich so viele schöne und traurige Geschichten gehört habe, und ein Land welches mir ein paar ganz besondere Freunde mit auf meinen Lebensweg gegeben hat.
Der Lonely Planet beschreibt Kolumbien vielversprechend als den Ort an dem sich der Amazonas, die Anden und die Karibik treffen und auch als eines der exotischsten, sinnlichsten, wildesten, komplexesten und faszinierensten Länder dieser Erde. Es ist die Heimat des Mythos des El Dorado und mit ihm viele andere märchenhafte Geschichten, die Land und Leute stark geprägt haben. Ich kann es kaum erwarten endlich den ‘heiligen’ Boden zu betreten.
Noch ein paar Wochen bis zum Abflug – und ich werde so langsam etwas nervös. Werde ich mit meinem dürftigen Spanisch überhaupt an der gefürchteten Einreisebehörde vorbei kommen? Und was wird mein Praktikum bringen? TrendyPose (siehe Links) das ist die Firma, für die ich die nächsten 6 Monate arbeiten werde. Ich bin gespannt!
Ich habe mich dazu entschieden von nun an Bedarf zu decken und euch nicht mehr mit lästigen Kettenmails zu nerven. So kann sich jeder wann und so oft er will nach dem Stand der Dinge erkundigen. Ich werde versuchen regelmäßig zu up-daten, aber macht euch nicht gleich Sorgen, wenn ich mal eine Weile nichts schreibe – das liegt dann wohl daran, dass ich zuviel Spaß habe 😉

Colombia has been largely the forgotten part of the popular Latin American ‘Gringo Trail’. It is looked upon as a country to get through rather quickly and not as a place to visit. That is one of the reasons for me to take a closer look and to start my South American adventure in exactly that mystical place, a country that I have heard so many stories about – happy and sad ones – and a country that has blessed me with some very special friends along the way.
The Lonely Planet describes Colombia as the place where the Amazon, the Andes and the Caribbean meet, and as one of the most exotic, sensual, wild, complex and fascinating countries on the face of earth. The myth of El Dorado found its roots in Colombia along with many other fantastic fairy-tales, that have shaped the country and its people significantly. I can hardly wait to step on the ‘holy’ grounds.
Only a few more weeks until departure – and I am starting to get a bit nervous. Will I manage to get past the reknowned DAS (customs) with the little Spanish I speak? And what will my internship bring? TrendyPose (see Links) that is the company I will be working for the next 6 months.
I have decided to serve demand only, rather than bothering you with long chain emails. This way everyone can decide how often he wants to check what I am up to. I will try to post frequently, but don’t start to worry if I have not posted anything for a while – it is probably only because I am having too much fun 😉
